New Outlook is a Danish-Jewish peace organisation deeply concerned for the state of Israel’s survival and for the survival of Judaism’s humanistic-ethical values supporting the following:
• Self-determination for Jews and Palestinians
• An independent Jewish state and an independent Palestinian state, existing side by side in peaceful coexistence
As a possible solution for the present conflict between Israel and the Palestinians we support the international "Roadmap for Peace" demanding a freeze of settlements’ activities on Palestinian ground, as well as the Geneva Accord supported by peace-loving Israelis and Palestinians including the following principles:
• The establishment of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state next to Israel with a complete mutual recognition of the two states
• The border between the two states will be drawn mainly along the pre-1967-war borders with a slightly small land swap on a 1:1 basis (the Geneva Accord suggests 2,5% Palestinian land in exchange of a similar area in Israel)
• Jerusalem will be divided in terms of administration, not physically, between the states and an International Force is safeguarding the access for everyone to the holy sites of the city
• A solution of the Palestinian refugee problem on the basis of a package, offering the return to Israel for a limited number of refugees, repatriation in the Palestinian State, relocating to third countries and financial compensation.
We also share the positions regarding the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians expressed by President Barack Obama in his speech in Cairo on 4 June 2009.
